Our first day at the District Farmer's Market was great. We met so many awesome people and their dogs. The weather was hot but it was cool under the tent.
It was a successful day until ... it was time to pack up at 2:00 pm. We knew there were some thunderstorms heading our way BUT no one expected this storm. We got hit with a very intense thunderstorm about 2:15 pm with wind gusts up to 50 mph, vivid lightning, torrential rain with pea size hail.
I was actually hanging onto the tent for about 15 minutes, trying not to let it go. Then, 2 of the truss bars broke and I was then able to remove the tent roof and keep it from blowing away.
Thankfully, we survived with just minimal damage to our tent, about $100 in damage.
We're looking forward to next week!
